Sun July 22,  Craft Brew Cruise on Mystic Blue Chicago Navy Pier Boarding starts at 12:30 pm, cruise 1:30-3:30. Total Cost is $67.86 ($49.90 plus tax/fees) for craft beer sampling (Toast to Belgian Independence - beer list coming soon online) or a “Designated Sailor” ticket for a total of $29.79. Included are 20 beer samples, light bites from the cocktail cruise menu, live DJ with dancing, bar games such as Foosball, Giant Jenga, etc. and 2 hour boat tour of the Chicago skyline. Tue July 24, Lost Mountain Adventure Golf  and Lunch, it's our third annual miniature golf outing. We will meet at 10am at 1535 75th St, Woodridge.  Admission is $7.50/65+ $6.50. Thur Aug 2,  PSC Meeting At Emmett’s  We’re back to 2 meetings a month (1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month August-April). Our meeting starts at 7:30 pm at Emmett’s Brewing Company, 5200 Main Street in Downers Grove.    Memberships for the 2018/2019 Season can be paid at the meeting. If you signed up to go on Ted & Bill’s Excellent Fox River Journey (August 11), you can pay for the trip at this meeting.  Come early for a good seat and to order your food and drinks.  See you there!

Sun Aug 5, Annual PSC Picnic at Bemis Woods (NOTE THE LOCATION CHANGE), 1100 Ogden Ave. Westchester, Large shelter # 5. Sign-up for trips will start at 1pm. To help offset the costs, we will be having prize raffles at the picnic. So when you pack your checkbook for trip sign-up, also pack some extra cash to purchase raffle tickets: 1 for $1.00 or 6 for $5.00. We will have gift baskets, discounts towards trips, gift certificates, and more. At the picnic, you will be able to sign up for ski trips and renew your memberships.

 

PSC provides beer, wine, pop, water, main course, plates, utensils, condiments, etc. Main course will be served at about 2:30pm YOU provide a dish to share. In an attempt to avoid 115 plates of cookies & chips… let’s use this as our guideline: last names;  A-G bring a Dessert; H-R bring an Appetizer; S-Z bring a Side Dish

 

 

If you want to sit, please bring lawn chairs. Remember dogs must be on a leash at all times it is the park rule. No Glass allowed in the Park.  Please RSVP with number of people attending in your family, so I know how much food and drinks we need via MeetUp or email smliedtke@gmail.com. Also, sign up at the June 7 or July 5 Ski club meeting to volunteer to help with set-up, clean-up, etc.

Sat Aug 11, Bill & Ted’s Excellent Fox River Journey II (Up the Creek with a Paddle) We will meet at the Yak Shack, 301 E Hydraulic St, Yorkville IL 60560 at 9:30 AM to take care of the paperwork, then start our journey by carpooling to the drop off point in Montgomery just South of the Dam (South Broadway Park) at intersection of East River Road (Rt 25) and Hartway Drive (around 1250 S. Broadway). On the way up we will drop one vehicle off at the Hudson River Crossing which will contain our liquid refreshments for the lunch stop. The 6 carpool drivers will drive back to the Yak shack and drive back to the drop off point with the Kayaks and canoes. Paddlers with their own kayaks or canoes are welcome to join us, but will need to provide their own kayak transport to and back to the drop off location. A small fee of $7 will be collected for refreshments for adventurers providing their own water transportation.

Paddlers must supply their own food for the 10 mile trip. Be sure to bring plenty of water. There will be a mid-trip stop at the HUDSON CROSSING PARK, 65 N. Harrison Street, Oswego for lunch and Excellent liquid refreshments. Two Porta Potty’s and potable water will be available at this stop.Once back on the river, we will have the option of another unscheduled halfway stop at the Saw Wee Kee Park (at 3300-3680 Sundown Ln, Yorkville, IL 60560) which has a Porta Potty nearby (3 blocks away) for any in dire need of relief. The journey ends back at the Yak Shack at 301 E Hydraulic St, Yorkville IL.We expect the trip to take 4 hours from launch to take-out, excluding lunch and break time. At the Journeys end, the survivors will celebrate heartily at the Crusade Burger Bar (walking distance from the Yak Shak) for Excellent Craft Beer and Gourmet Burgers.

 

Important! If you are planning to go, please bring a check made payable to Piccadilly Ski Club to the July or August meetings (first come, first serve as there are limited spots available). If you cannot make the meeting, please contact Bill (bciciora@yahoo.com) or Ted (trourk1@yahoo.com) for information on where to send the payment.  Kayak rentals are $42 (a maximum of 16 rentals are available) and 2 person Canoes are $64 (10 rentals are available).  We need to have the Kayak reservations finalized no later than August 2. Harry plans on arriving around 3 pm Saturday and will be at the Motel 6. He will reserve tables depending on the interest level. They do not allow carry-ins and they search bags.  The Bavarian Inn has been remodeled and reopened as Bavarian Bierhaus! Bavarian Bierhaus resembles a German Bier Hall and is open year round. They have a complete menu, a new Micro Brewery and offer Sunday Brunch. There is a lot to do around there so let Harry know if you want suggestions. Sun Sept 23, Cubs/Sox Crosstown Rivalry  Join Bill & Ted for the final crosstown game of the 2018 baseball season.  We will meet at Suburbanite Bowl at 9am for the bus ride to the park for the 1:10 pm game. Bring your lawn chairs if you wish to sit during the tailgate portion of the trip.  Your $93 (Member) $95 (Non-Member) fee includes the busride to/from the ballpark, tickets in Section 113 for the game, 3 hours of pregame tailgating featuring food, pop, beer and games.
