Mon Aug 21, Total Eclipse of the Heart? No! Total eclipse of the Sun. Come watch, 11:45am at Lunar Brewing Company, 54 East Saint Charles Road, Villa Park, IL.  The best place to see Total Eclipse is  Carbondale, so unless you are planning on making the trip, join us at Lunar Brewing in Villa Park. Lunar opens at Noon so we can "watch" the beginning of the Eclipse from the parking lot. They have House beers on tap as well as a nice selection of Guest beers. They have chips and a limited food menu . Lunar is brewing a Total Eclipse Stout which hopefully will be ready by then. Can't make it? The next Solar Eclipse is April 8, 2024 and will be about 90% in Chicago so even better!

Thurs Sept. 7 PSC Meeting 7:30 pm at Emmett’s Brewing Company, 5200 Main Street in Downers Grove.  We are back to 2 meetings a month.  If you haven’t paid your dues, bring your checkbook to to pay membership dues up so you can sign up for your trip(s) for the 2017/2018 season. Come early for a good seat and don’t forget, pitchers of beer are ½ price in the meeting room. 

Fri Sept 8 Dinner for 10 - Benihana, Lombard 6:30 pm, 747 E. Butterfield Road, Lombard, IL 60148.  A dining experience unlike any other! Guests are seated at communal table for 10, where your personal chef will perform the ancient art of Teppanyaki. Watch as they slice and dice, preparing a meal that will dazzle your eyes as well taste buds, whether you choose mouth-watering steak, tender chicken or succulent seafood. You can also enjoy sushi prepared by a talented sushi chef. Sun Sept. 10 Craft Brew Cruise on Mystic Blue Chicago, Navy Pier 1:30 pm Boarding starts at 12:30 pm Total Cost is $54.27 ($39.90 plus tax/fees) for craft beer sampling (Brewers of the Western Suburbs) or a “Designated Sailor” ticket for a total of $29.79. Also included are light bites from the cocktail cruise menu, live DJ with dacing, bar games such as Foosball, Giant Jenga, etc. and 2 hour boat tour of the Chicago skyline. Fri Sept 15 Happy Hour At 3 Corners Grilll & Tap, 6pm - ? , 7231 Lemont Rd. Downers Grove, IL. Their moto is:  eat. drink. relax. Sat Sept. 16 Arlington Park Racetrack – Luck of the Irish Day - It’s Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day! Gates open at Noon and horse races are from 1:25 pm to 4:55 pm. Specials are Irish Stew, Corned Beef Sandwiches and Green Beer, plus Irish entertainment. General Admission is $8 online and $10 at the gate. This ticket allows you to enjoy views along the track rail and paddock with access to first-come-first served benches, or the opportunity to picnic on the lawn in the park. This also includes access to Apron Level concessions, tellers, and Mr. D’s Sports Bar. Parking is free in certain areas for general admission and there is $5 preferred parking and $15 Valet parking available. Additional information including what you can/cannot bring into the park can be found at www.arlingtonpark.com under Park Policies. Everyone is responsible for purchasing their own ticket and transportation to/from the park. Picadillians can meet in the center of the general admission benches facing the middle of the track about 12:30 and then move their seating as desired.

Sat Sept. 23 Oktoberfest At Old Heidelberg Park, Glendale WI - Our 33rd year! Reserve Your Spot so you have somewhere to sit!  Harry Mattson is collecting $5 pp to reserve tables in the tent. Bring your $5 to the  August meeting, the Piccadilly picnic, or the September meeting. Reserve a spot so you have somewhere to sit! Harry will arrive around 3 pm Saturday and will be at the Motel 6. He’ll reserve tables depending on RSVPs. They do not allow carry-ins and they search bags.  The Bavarian Inn has been remodeled and reopened as Bavarian Bierhaus! Bavarian Bierhaus resembles a German Bier Hall and is open year round. They have a complete menu, a new Micro Brewery and offer Sunday Brunch. There is a lot to do around there so let Harry know if you want suggestions.
