Panorama, British Columbia, Canada             From Local Hill to Powder Highway

Panorama Ski Resort got its start when some local skiers decided they needed a local ski area in 1959.  In 1962 they finally found a good location and started with one run, a rope tow, a warming hut, and a parking lot.  After several periods of expansion and ownership changes, Panorama is now owned by the local community.

Along British Columbia’s famous ‘Powder Highway’, Panorama is in the top 10 for vertical drop in North America. But don’t let that scare you off. They offer a wide variety of runs:  15% Beginner/ 35% Intermediate/ 20% Advanced/ 30% Expert, so even the most discerning skier will be satisfied.  Panorama is known for having long groomers, they even have night skiing on the lower slopes!  Panorama’s summit is at 8,038 feet so there are no concerns with altitude.  There are over 2,975 skiable acres, a 4,265-foot vertical drop, and a 3.9-mile trail from top to bottom.
